"For connecting sea cable to 17 resorts and double tracks, we need Rp 670 billion. Next year, we will realize it," disclosed Head of Seribu Islands Industry and Energy Sub-dept, Melinda Sagala, Tuesday (4/19).

Melinda explains the submarine cable will function to anticipate outages at one lane and meet electricity demand in such island resorts. In an emergency, the cable can be used as a power backup in case of outages happens in the line of the existing PLN Teluk Naga's substation, Tangerang, Banten.

"Through this line, the resort could save because the cost is equal to the electricity consumption. On appeal such as this time should be used the eco-friendly generator," he explained.

She added, the power generated from this double track to reach 10 megawatts. In addition to the resort island, the submarine cable is also able to meet the electricity needs in 10 residential islands.
